Units & Numerical Input

Units

The units of the user interface can be changed any time using Reporting Units drop down menu located in the upper right corner of the application. The choice of units only affects the user interface temporarily, it does not change the real size or location of the model. Further, the data file is not affected by choice of units.

Numeric input

Any widget in the user interface that shows units can use algebraic expressions throughout the application. For example, if the current units are ft:\


5 + 3*9

 = 32ft  Please note * implies multiplication, similar to calculator

5 + 3in

 = 5ft 3in

5 + 3/4ft

 = 5.75ft

5 + (9 + 2)*6

 = 71ft

1mm

 = 1mm, even if the current units are different, example ft


x,y,z triplets

It many tools, it is possible to cut & paste x,y,z triplet values into data fields the accept x,y,z values.
